Welcome to my web site!
I started calling about 4 years ago after
deciding to enter an amateur night calling
contest. I was scared to death before I got
up but once I was up there found out it was
sort of fun. I decided to try to really
learn how to call so went to Silver State
Callers College in Reno in 2006. Nasar
Shukar, Doug Davis and Wade Driver were the
instructors and I learned how much I didn't
know! The next year I went to Circle 8 Ranch
in Washington where I learned more about
what I didn't know form Daryl Clendenin and
Jerry Junck. Both classes were a lot of fun
and some of it is sinking in finally, thanks
guys.
I would also like to thank my partner Al
Felde who has been very supportive of my calling
ambition and has the official title of "
Caller Hauler", also Jim Voll and Bruce Lowther
who unfailingly let me call at there dances
and have had and a big hand in guiding me
along and giving me constructive feed back.
I call every 4th Saturday for the Willamette
Squares. I called for Toledo
49'ers for 3 years until they changed to a
traveling club, and have called dances for
Beachcombers, Coast Swingers, Country
Capers, Silver City Squares, just to name a few.
You will also see a link on this site for
Shawn Hawkins and the Offenders, that is my
son and I am very proud of his work, he is
lead singer and songwriter, so take a look
please.
Proud to be Square
Sandy
